Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TavernLink (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website at tavernlink.com and any associated applications. By using TavernLink, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use TavernLink. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the platform. By using TavernLink, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

2. Your Account

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at hello@tavernlink.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

You may not create accounts for others without their permission, use another person's account, or use automated means to create accounts. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Store Listings and Claimed Listings

TavernLink pre-populates store listings from publicly available information. These listings are provided for informational purposes. Store owners may claim their listing by verifying ownership through the email address on record for their store.

By claiming a listing, you represent that you are an authorized representative of the store and that all information you provide is accurate and up to date. You are responsible for keeping your listing information current. TavernLink reserves the right to remove or revoke a claimed listing if we determine it was claimed fraudulently or inaccurately.

Unclaimed listing data (store name, address, publicly available hours) is derived from public sources. If you believe a listing is inaccurate or should be removed, contact us at hello@tavernlink.com.

Store owners who receive player contact information through event bookings may use that information only to fulfil the booking. Store owners may not use player contact information for marketing, solicitation, or any purpose unrelated to the specific booking.

4. User Content

You may submit content to TavernLink including store descriptions, event details, Just In items, images, and other materials (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant TavernLink a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the platform.

You represent that your User Content:

Reviews you submit are public and will be displayed on the relevant store's listing page. Store owners may respond to your review publicly. TavernLink moderates reviews at its sole discretion and may remove reviews that violate these Terms or that we otherwise determine are inappropriate.

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is otherwise objectionable.

Images you upload to TavernLink must not contain nudity, graphic violence, hateful imagery, or any content that exploits or endangers minors. We reserve the right to remove any uploaded image that violates these standards.

6. Intellectual Property

TavernLink and its licensors own all intellectual property rights in the platform, including the TavernLink name, logo, design, software, and all content we create. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property without our prior written consent.

The TavernLink platform includes mapping functionality powered by Mapbox. Your use of map features is also subject to Mapbox's terms of service.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

TavernLink offers a free tier and a paid Pro tier. The free tier is available indefinitely at no charge. Pro subscription features, pricing, and billing terms will be presented at the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. By subscribing to Pro, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the then-current subscription rate. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Event reservations are subject to the cancellation policy of the store or organizer hosting the event. TavernLink is not responsible for cancelled, postponed, or modified events. If an event is cancelled, contact the store or organizer directly.

All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us at hello@tavernlink.com and we will review your request. We reserve the right to change our pricing with reasonable notice.

8. Third-Party Services

TavernLink integrates with third-party services including mapping providers, authentication services, and payment processors. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

9. Disclaimers

TAVERNLINK IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that store listing information is accurate, complete, or current. Store hours, contact information, and event details are provided by store owners and may not reflect current conditions. Always verify critical information directly with the store.

We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL TAVERNLINK, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) CAD $100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TavernLink and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Privacy

Your use of TavernLink is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to TavernLink at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the platform immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your account settings. Store owners who wish to remove their claimed listing association should contact us at hello@tavernlink.com.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform shall first be subject to good-faith negotiations between the parties. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Calgary, Alberta, in accordance with the Arbitration Act (Alberta), except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required by law, notify registered users by email. Your continued use of TavernLink after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
